Soak it all up!
06/05/2009
– Soak is not just another placement scheme
– It does not cater for the masses nor does it appeal to everyone
– It was established to provide the bridging-gap for students between
higher-education and employment within the digital industry
– It does this by offering short term ‘contracts’ to students
of between 4 and 8 weeks
Successful candidates will experience not just studio ‘life’ but the whole process
of position interview through to selection or rejection, the highs and lows of the
new business pitch as well as working on other key client accounts.
They will report to their Creative or Technical Director and will ultimately
be responsible to our Operations Director for progress and project delivery.
All work carried out whilst experiencing ‘Soak’ can be taken forward and
presented in their folio alongside a development report of the candidate
covering strengths, weaknesses and suggested areas of improvement.
Soak aims to:
– Make higher-education and ‘the next step’ into the industry as seamless
as possible
– Connect industry closer to its emerging talent pool by providing
a real-world environment in which to grow
– Allow candidates to participate in an established digital agency’s working life
Partners include:
• D&AD
• Creative Partnerships
• Glebe Primary School
• Partners In Creative Learning
• Stockport College
• University of Bolton
