Fudge appoints McCann-i founder.
05/06/2009
Andrew Thomas, founder and former MD of McCann-i, has been appointed
to the position of Non-executive Director.
Andrew’s vast experience spans over twenty years, having spent the majority
of his marketing career with McCann-Erickson in London and Manchester in
a succession of account management, planning and business development
roles for brands such as Black & Decker, Gillette, Clarks, Unilever and Philips.
He founded McCann’s digital operation in Manchester in 1999 and was responsible
for developing brands such as Sainsbury’s Bank, Thomson Holidays and Magnet
migrate their marketing spend online and develop significant digital propositions.
Andrew ran the McCann-i operation until 2004 when he left to join Pavilion
Communications as Managing Director and oversaw the acquisition by Hasgrove
Group, until he joined Bounty in 2005. Andrew up until the end of 2008 was an
Executive Director at Bounty and part of the management team that sold the
business to the publicly listed Canadian company Kaboose for £70 million. Bounty
is the leading direct marketing business focusing on expectant mothers and new
parent households.
Fudge MD David Eccles was delighted with the appointment, saying…
“Bringing Andrew into the mix demonstrates Fudge’s determination to achieve
further growth in the next three years, cementing its position as one of the leading
digital agencies in the region.”
Andrew was equally positive, adding…
“Fudge’s proposition is compelling – marrying strategically-led project insight with
a great deal of creative energy, and I am immensely looking forward to working
with the team on developing the business further.”
Andrew is also a Media Development Professional with Northwest Vision
and Media and an Associate Coach working with Winning Pitch on the Northwest
Regional Development Agency’s High Growth Programme. He remains a trustee
of the Bounty Charitable Trust and is a frequently quoted spokesperson in the
new media press and a regular conference speaker.
